NEED HELP FIXING UP YOUR HOME? The City of Eaton's Community Housing Improvement Program ("CHIP") may be able to help you.
Funds are available to assist eligible households with:
HOME REPAIR - The purpose of this program is to make repairs to your home that will keep it safe for you and your family. Repairs may include, but are not limited to, single items, such as roofs, gutters and downspouts, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, insulation, bathroom upgrades, water heaters, handicapped accessibility repairs and more. Grants to eligible households may be up to $8,000.
PRIVATE OWNER HOME REHABILITATION - This program provides funds to homeowners to correct systems in your home that are below standards. For example, comprehensive repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, roof, walls, your home's exterior and foundation can be eligible activities. Handicap accessibility repairs for the disabled and elderly are also eligible. This program provides loans that are deferred over time and are at zero percent interest.
Limited DOWNPAYMENT ASSISTANCE can be provided to assist you in the purchase of a home.
